Hackers Help: Can the BROGRUND wall shelf rods be shortened?

Can BROGRUND Wall Shelf rods be shortened like GRUNDTAL rods can — by cutting the rods with a hacksaw to desired length, pushing the screw fitting from the cut end and reinserting back into the newly shortened rod? I need 18” and 21” shelves.

I’ve not cut one up yet so can’t be sure how it works on the inside. Let’s see whether the IKEAhackers community has more experience with it. Fingers crossed.

Marko used 12 BROGRUND towel rails to create a wall wine rack. The brackets (side pieces) for the towel rails come with a plastic cover and welded on metal mounting tabs. A beautiful design idea for the IVAR cabinet with doors

A wall of IVAR cabinets with doors engraved is astonishingly captivating. Because IVAR is real solid wood (unlike a lot of flat-pack cupboards), it makes a great blank canvas for CNC machining work and engraving. It’s not too difficult to shorten some in order to fill a wall exactly.
