Moppe got his stripes with infusible ink transfer sheets

This wooden thing — the MOPPE mini chest of drawers — had been sitting in my craft room for years begging for a makeover. But I didn’t want to paint it because of the possibility of the drawers getting harder to pull out. I used infusible ink transfer sheets instead. All in all, an easy makeover for the MOPPE. IKEA HEMNES sideboard to kitchen peninsula

The IKEA HEMNES sideboard was chipped and looking shabby after an international move. At the same time, our kitchen table and chairs were equally shabby. So we replaced them with this IKEA HEMNES kitchen peninsula hack and countertop stools. Then, painted it with several coats of Jotun Silk Sea Emerald. I painted three coats of emulsion and a two coats of varnish over 3 days, letting the paint fully dry before the varnish. Once I got the custom-made stained worktop I placed it on top of the HEMNES sideboard, adjusting the overhang to where I want it to be. Then, drilled four screws from under the top of the HEMNES side

Decorative fireplace to cozy up the kids room

I started this project because my children always wanted a fireplace in their bedroom . This is a decorative fireplace and no actual fire is used. It all started with a BILLY bookshelf 80x28x106. It is very simple to create because you don’t need many tools, except a cordless drill or screwdriver. Eat your food scraps, new IKEA cookbook shows us how

Wilted greens, egg shells, banana peels — only fit for the trash or compost bin? IKEA begs to differ. They say, food scraps should be on your plate too. IKEA Canada is helping us rethink food waste with  Scrapsbook , a new cookbook that turns bottom-of-the-crisper vegetables, overripe fruit and what we’ll normally toss in the bin into edible — more importantly — delicious meals. The innovative, one of a kind cookbook is available  free to download as a PDF . It is also on Google Play Books and Apple Books . “In Canada, research tells us that almost two thirds of food scraps that end up as kitchen waste could have been eaten,” said Johanna Andren, Head of Marketing, IKEA Canada. “Seeing how much waste is created in one of the most important rooms in the home, we set out to inspire Canadians by giving food scraps another look and offering new, creative ways to reduce food waste at home.” IKEA ScrapsBook features 50 recipes made from food scraps The cookbook features 50 reci

IKEA FYRTUR wireless blind: Switching from battery to permanent power supply

I have mounted an IKEA FYRTUR wireless roller blind in a position, where it is difficult to get access to the battery chamber to recharge the battery. So I decided to replace the battery with a Universal Power Supply. The process turned out to be rather simple.
