Skådis pegboard stand as awesome craft room divider

Can’t drill into walls? Here’s how to make a stand for the SKÅDIS pegboard.

I bought some attachments to put the SKÅDIS pegboard at the end of my desk but my desk top was too thick.

And I didn’t want to hang it on the wall as I like to change my craft room/ dressing room around all the time. So I repurposed a clothes rail, previously used for hanging houseplants, to create a pegboard stand.

I love that I can move it anywhere I need to.

Pegboard stand instructions:

Hang the pegboard from the clothes rail using the S-hooks.

Use a couple of SKÅDIS bungee cord accessories on the sides to help keep it vertical against the weight of the items hanging on the board.

You can hang an additional peg board below the first one using more S-hooks for a full-height room divider. 

How long and how much did it cost?

It took five minutes once I had the idea. The peg board and clothes rail were each £12. I already had the S-hooks and I think the bungee attachments were £3 for a pack of 3.

What to pay special attention to? 

Really heavy items on the pegboard will cause it to sway back or bend. The bungee cords aren’t really strong enough to prevent that. You will need stronger side attachments if you plan to hang tools or heavy items.

Looking back, would you have done it differently? 

If I can find some attractive zip-tie attachments for the sides I may use those to replace the bungee cords.

A beautiful design idea for the IVAR cabinet with doors

Hackers Help: How to remake cam lock holes?

I want to put a 78.5” wide PAX configuration in a 77” space for a kids room . My plan is to eliminate the drawer on the right unit, then cut the shelves and rails to be 1.5” narrower. My question is, how do people attach two laminated pressboard IKEA pieces after they’ve cut off the cam lock holes? Related: See more Hackers Help questions and answers . The outside pieces won’t be visible in my completed setup so I could go either way.
