Happy 2019, peeps!
I hope you had a wonderful time welcoming the new year. It was a quiet one for me, spent setting in motion plans for the year.
Now, after the break, I’m back with our regular programming.
And first up, we have a question from Ian.
He’s asking.
“What kind of finish does IKEA use on their solid pine (natural) furniture, like TROFAST, for example…
I’m making some pine desks to go with, and I’d like the finish to match (and age) similarly.”
Does anyone have information on matching IKEA pine wood finishes?
Their website lists the TROFAST as solid pine, having a coat of tinted clear acrylic lacquer.
If you’ve successfully matched IKEA pine furniture finish, do let us know in the comments below.
Happy hacking!
Jules

Question: How do I paint IKEA pine furniture?
Sean has the white stained HEMNES nightstand and it’s starting to change color. The legs and top of the nightstand are just the teensiest bit yellowed and the drawers/side panels remain true to the rest of the set. He’s thinking about painting either the drawer front and side panels or the legs and top aqua. See the answers he received.
