Rolling TV stand for 55″ flat panel TV

My girlfriend wanted a rolling TV stand for her new 55 inch flat panel TV and Bose speakers. At IKEA, we located an affordable table the perfect size but without wheels.

Materials:

IKEA 403.492.63 LACK Nesting Tables $29 each x 2
IKEA 002.886.57 KALLAX Rail with 2 casters $15 each x 2
4-inch x 1/4 inch lag screws and washers x 4

So we bought a second table to form a base and also bought some IKEA casters.

We turned the table upside down, drilled new holes, and screwed the casters and base into the table legs.

The resulting rolling TV stand can be tucked away against the wall, or rolled around to face the sofa-bed, the couch, or the kitchen as desired.

Hackers Help: How to remake cam lock holes?

I want to put a 78.5” wide PAX configuration in a 77” space for a kids room . My plan is to eliminate the drawer on the right unit, then cut the shelves and rails to be 1.5” narrower. My question is, how do people attach two laminated pressboard IKEA pieces after they’ve cut off the cam lock holes? Related: See more Hackers Help questions and answers . A wall of IVAR cabinets with doors engraved is astonishingly captivating. Because IVAR is real solid wood (unlike a lot of flat-pack cupboards), it makes a great blank canvas for CNC machining work and engraving. It’s not too difficult to shorten some in order to fill a wall exactly.
